I restocked some books for SC Comicon on March 9-10th. I'll also have a limited number of the Tales of the Interstellar Bartender's Guild sci-fi anthology there for the first time. You can also find copies HERE.
My story in this anthology collection is called Ol' Jake. Ol’ Jake was not unique in the galaxy. Stop by any bar at any of the planets along the galactic arm the locals referred to as the Antares Beltway and you’ll find Ol’ Jake there. He’ll be the one behind the bar, slinging drinks and entertaining the guests. He might not always look the same-- and sometimes he might actually be a she or an it depending on your destination-- but at the core, each and every one of them is ‘Ol Jake. Ol’ Jake was an android barkeep and this is his story. Well, one of them at least.
Another good day at the writing office. Much was accomplished. I also learned a valuable lesson that will save me some time going forward. I put 2 books on Kindle Countdown deals for the span of a week. Out of all of that time and effort, the promotions on social media and elsewhere, etc., I sold exactly 1 copy of the ebooks on sale.
To quote Mr. Spock, "We learn by doing." So, no more sales, I guess.
Who is that not-so-subtle government agent following Negative Man in Doom Patrol episode 2? You see him back there with the sunglasses, watching ever so closely? Can he be trusted? Who does he work for? Why does he seem so familiar? (hint: he's me) Should DC have him appear again? (the answer to that last one is a big ol' YES!)
Thanks to Earth Station DCU podcast host Drew Leiter for sharing the screen capture. I haven't been able to watch yet. Speaking of ESDCU, I'll be on their show next week talking Snow Falls, which was just released as an audio book as well as my appearance in this episode.
I'm not in the last photo, but this was the location. I'm standing beside the bus on the right.
Today has been a busy Monday. Most of it was busy with non-writing activities, but from around 6:30 pm to now (around 1:30 am), I've been working so I can't complain too much. I haven't even turned on a TV today. Can't remember the last time I didn't watch TV at night.
In addition to writing, I proofed some chapters of the Snow Storm audio book, which will be completed tomorrow and I received the first couple of chapters of the Deadly Games! audio book tonight to review. Exciting stuff. I also worked on the new chapter of Suicide Bomb, which has been posted to Patreon.
All in all, not a bad day. More writing on tap for tomorrow, but for now, it's time to call it a night.
Each Tuesday, a new chapter of my serialized novel, SUICIDE BOMB is posted to www.patreon.com/bobbynash as a Patreon exclusive. Coming in paperback after it's finished from BEN Books. DC Metro Homicide Detective Catherine Jackson and Secret Service Agent Samantha Patterson are on the trail of the mysterious killer known as The Controller. The Controller has learned how to turn average, ordinary people into suicide bombs. What will trigger the next kill? Find out at www.patreon.com/bobbynash

WE LOVE READER REVIEWS! Big Thanks to Amberjack for the kind words and 5 STAR Amazon review of The Joy of Joe HERE and below.
"The Thrill of Childhood! I picked this book up at a book convention last year and enjoyed it immensely! Each chapter author shares their childhood (and adulthood) experiences with G.I. Joe and how these action figures left an indelible mark on their life. From its beginning as the first action figure to its most modern incarnation, this is a book for any fan of the brand. If you're a fan of shows like "The Toys Who Made Us," then this is a book for you. The personal accounts people offer here are wonderful glimpses into the past and show how the most important ingredient for any toy is the imagination."''
Thanks again, Amberjack!
Oh, it's good to be back! Author Allan Hudson invited me to return to the South Branch Scribbler for a new 4Q Interview. We talk Snow Falls, The Avenger, BEN Books, horror, thrillers, Patreon, and I relate the story of the time we sorta adopted a monkey when I was a kid. You can also read an excerpt from Snow Falls. You get all of this, free of charge no less, and more HERE.
Thanks again, Allan. That was fun. I don't get to tell the monkey story very often.

If you saw the Wonder Woman commission that was included in a Bobby's Big Bingeable Box O' Books Bundle, you know what comes next. That's right! It's Box Art Time! When people ask why I don't do likenesses, this piece is why. It's the 10th Doctor, but the face does not look quite right. Hopefully, the TARDIS in the background gets around that.
Want to get your own Box Art? All you have to do is buy something from my website or me directly and I will doodle on your box or envelope. Deal alert: get a sketch, 7 autographed books, and a DVD for only $50! This bundle makes a great gift too! Hit up Bobby's Big Bingeable Box O' Books Bundle HERE.
Wonder Woman commission for a customer who picked up a Bobby's Big Box O' Books Bundle. I figure you can't go wrong with playing 'bullets and bracelets' although there are a whole lot of unnecessary lines on her new costume.
Want to get a sketch of your own, 7 autographed books, and a DVD? Or, do you know someone else who might enjoy this as a gift? Hit up Bobby's Big Box O' Books Bundle HERE.
Bryan SilverbaX and Bobby Nash talk everything X-Men (and then some) on STS Podcast Bonus Content 4! Bryan braved the wilderness and traveled all the way to the wilds of Bethlehem to talk X-Men with me today. It was a fun chat as we look at where the franchise (comics, cartoons, movies, and TV) has been and where it's going. Give it a listen at https://stswithsilverbax.podbean.com or go direct HERE.
Part 2 of my guest blog series on using public domain characters in your own work is now live. You can read it HERE.
This time out, I look at the pro's and con's of using public domain characters and ask some writer friends of mine to weigh in on the top. A big top 'o the hat to Sean Taylor, James Palmer, Ron Fortier, Derrick Ferguson, Jeff Deischer, and one writer/publisher who preferred to remain anonymous for their help with this installment. You should check out their work. Also, thanks to Adam C. Mitchell for hosting this blog tour.
If you missed it, Public Domain Part 1 is still available to read HERE.
It's going on 2:30 in the morning so I think it's time to call it a night. But first, a few closing thoughts...
Today was a busy day at Nash Central. A lot of admin work, marketing, promotion, and the like. The big thing was designing and building the SNOW FALLS audio/ebook combo prize contest I posted earlier. This took a bit longer than originally planned, but things adjusted a bit after talking with a writer friend about it. He offered up a suggestion that made it a lot more work, but should give a bigger return on my time investment. Fingers crossed. I posted all of the pertinent details at www.ben-books.com, www.bobbynash.com, and all over social media. Please, tell your friends. I'd love to have lots of entries.
Working on the contest got me thinking about my plans for SNOW.
One of my goals for 2019 is to double the size of Snow's readership. I like to think this is an attainable goal, but it'll take some work. There are 2 more books left to round out series 1 and I have already started formulating plans for what happens beyond. I really like the stand-alone format. That will definitely continue. I'm still trying to decide if I want to do a 6 book over-arching story like with series 1 or just do stand alone stories and weave in subplots to set up future stories. I'm still kicking around ideas in my head on that one.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the matter. Do you like the series and the big plot or is 1 book/1 story the way to go? Maybe mix-n-match. I'm curious to see what the characters want to do, but would love to hear your thoughts as well.
Tomorrow, my day is devoted to writing. At least that's the plan. There's an old joked that asks, "Do you know how to make God laugh? Make plans." Hopefully, after sharing the sale and contest info again tomorrow, I will be able to spend several good hours tapping away at the laptop.
Contest Time! Want to win a copy of the SNOW FALLS audio book and ebook combo pack? There are 4 ways you can get in the drawing via Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or my newsletter. Or do them all and enter 4 times. Follow these quick and easy steps to enter.

The Avenger: Double Feature boasts a novella-length tale by Bobby Nash and a short story by Chuck Miller. Nash's tale, "Black Water," eschews run-of-the-mill gangsters for science fiction elements, and it works. If this seems odd to some Avenger readers, I would note that some of the original pulp novels by "Kenneth Robeson" (Paul Ernst), such as Tuned for Murder, River of Ice, The Flame Breathers, and Murder on Wheels (among others—including the whole idea of Benson himself and his odd powers!) have strong SF elements. Add in a secret cabal a la the Illuminati, and Nash is cooking with gas...or water.
If Nash goes big, Miller's "The Face of Death" goes small and intimate, with a neat little ghost-story-cum-murder-mystery, featuring only Benson (The Avenger) and his aide Nellie Gray. Sending all of The Avenger's other aides away on various matters allows Miller to inject some nice character moments for Benson and Nellie, along with just the right amount of banter that is not over the top.

Welcome back, CRIMINAL! Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips take their amazing Image Comics series monthly. I love this series and the new monthly carries on that same tradition. Crime fiction at it's finest. This book gets my highest possible recommendation.
If you're new to the world of Criminal, there's a handy guide in the back of this issue to show you what has gone before. You can read the story without having read the previous stories, but I highly recommend them as well.
Kelly Thompson, Leonardo Romero, and Michael Walsh are an amazing creative team. Great story and art. Hawkeye: Kate Bishop vol. 1 'Anchor Points' from Marvel Comics is an amazing read and a great new direction for West Coast Hawkeye as she becomes a p.i. in a new city. Highly recommended.
Chapter 14 of SUICIDE BOMB goes live at Midnight 02/12/19.

I had a great time visiting my pals on the Earth Station One podcast. My Writing Day... 02/10/19: MEET THE MIDNIGHT MAN! (Now with a logo)
Today was a pretty good day, writing wise. Added over 1,000 words to Hunter Houston: Horror Hunter Book 2, which is subtitled "The Midnight Man" and features a character I have been wanting to use in a story since I was a teenager. Will be back to work on it again Monday. For more details on who The Midnight Man is, join us at www.patreon.com/bobbynash where I go into where this character came from and when he was created.
