NECESSARY ROUGHNESS

The GA Dome doubling as New York Hawks Stadium for Necessary Roughness.
TV Alert! Not sure how much screen time I'll get, but check out the first row of seats at the football game on tonight's episode of Necessary Roughness on USA Network. 10 pm. You might see me.

Rest assured, if I catch a glimpse of myself in the episode tonight I will grab a pic and post it.

Bobby

***UPDATE***

Sadly, no good shots of me in the episode. I worked on several different games so there's a possibility I'll get some screen time when the show returns in November. The closest I got this time was being part of a wide master shot. Check it out.
There's a whole lot of computer magic going on here. Trust me.

UPDATES, ADDENDUMS, AND ASSORTED STUFF OF NOTE

DRAGON*CON SCHEDULE UPDATED 8/28/12

I've been a little lax in posting of late as I'm on a deadline for Pro Se's upcoming Pulp Obscura anthology, The Green Ghost, but I wanted to catch you up on things and to just say hello. So... hello.

My table at the 2011 Nashville Con. Got there early and set up.
Due to a family obligation I have had to cancel my appearance at the Nashville Comic and Horror Festival on October 6 - 7, 2012 in Nashville, TN. It's a fantastic show. You should check it out if you get the chance. My ESO podcasting cohorts, Mike Faber and Mike Gordon will be on hand along with some other great guests. You can also follow the convention on Facebook and Twitter. It's a good time.

Airship 27, one of the publishers I work, with has updated their site. You should check it out at http://robmdavis.com/Airship27Hangar/index.airshipHangar.html

Yesterday, I took a short break from writing to catch The Expendables 2. It was a fun and exciting movie with lots of action and humor. Well work a looksee.

ABOUT SAMARITAN:

Deep space.

The science ship Aquarius, under the command of Captain Jeremiah Rains has finally reached the end of its exploratory mission to the depths of uncharted space and is returning home to Earth.

Captain Rains and his skeleton military crew are tired and bored from the lack of adventure they expected to find out in the great beyond. The scientists, however, are extremely happy with their many discoveries.

When the ship comes upon the wreckage of a destroyed space vessel, the crew is surprised to find one survivor; a woman, quite possibly the most beautiful woman any of them have ever seen. Her name is Lari and all she wants is someone, some Good Samaritan, to take her home.

The catch is that her planet is located at the center of a black hole.

TO DA MOON, ALICE!

Kudos to all of you who get the reference in the title. With Facebook and Google+ using this timeline style set up on their pages with cover photos I decided it was finally time to update mine. I enjoyed the images that were there, but it was definitely time for something new. To that end, I took the art from the cover of my latest novel, Earthstrike Agenda and repurposed it for the pages. What do you think?

This is a new author photo. Had to do a little digital magic on an older photo to get this just right. Here's a hint, there was no wall behind me in the original and I shifted over the books on the table so these could be cropped to fit the size needs. Ah, the magic of computers.

THERE I AM... ON THE ROAD AGAIN...

The past few months have been a whirlwind of activity, which has kept me from posting as often as I'd like. It's also kept me from getting photos off the camera, which I've finally done. The following shots are from my last three conventions and appearances. As always, please click on any photo for a larger view.

Enjoy.

Bobby

THE ATLANTA COMIC CONVENTION - JULY 8, 2012 - ATLANTA, GA
Always a fun time, the ACC held on July 8th at the Marriott Century Center in Atlanta, GA was a blast. Not only was there a nice crowd, but also a great selection of talented creators and dealers with awesome deals. You can tell it was busy because almost every one of the photos shown here were shot from my table. I didn't get to walk around as much as I normally do, which means it was good and busy. The Atlanta Comic Convention is held four times a year. I hope to see you at the next one.

THE CHARLOTTE COMICON - AUGUST 5, 2012 - CHARLOTTE, NC
Another one day show that's always a lot of fun, the CCC was held on August 5th at the Crown Plaza in Charlotte, NC. As usual, the show was a blast. In addition to record breaking attendance for this show, there was a costume contest, cool creators, and some sweet deals. I also got to hang out with friends Mike Gordon, John Hartness, and Bradd and Nikki Parton, which is always a nice bonus. The next CCC is December 15th, but at a different venue as the Crown Plaza will be under renovation at that time. I hope to see you there.

Along with my Earth station One/Earth Station Who podcasting pals, I visited Titan Games and Comics in Duluth, GA on Saturday, August 11th for the first stop on the Great Atlanta TARDIS Tour. Fans of Doctor Who came out in droves to meet the cast and crew of the new upcoming web series, The Forgotten Doctor. We recorded a few interviews with the cast and crew for the next Earth Station Who podcast episode. Special thanks to the management and staff of Titan Comics for also hosting the Earth Station Who crew.
