WALK WITH ME DOWN THE STREETS OF GOLGOTHA

A few years back, my friend, and fellow writer, Jamie Ramos conceived of a series of short novelettes set in the fictional city of Golgotha. It was an interesting premise and when he invited me to participate, I was happy to sign on for a story. Unfortunately, health problems sidelined things and Jaime sadly passed away in 2025.

In 2026, Airship 27 Productions, in cooperation with Jaime’s wife, the Golgotha stories, both published and as yet unpublished, were collected into a single volume. Proceeds from book sales will go to Jaime’s family. The official press release is below.

AIRSHIP 27 PRODUCTION presents JAIME RAMOS’ STREETS OF GOLOGTHA

The word Golgotha means "the city of skulls," and "the place of Christ's crucifixion.” Late editor Jaime Ramos thought that a city based on this meaning, which was founded by French monks in the 1800s, would be an interesting place to set noir and detective stories. Ramos wanted the city to be hard-core, filled with dirty cops, the Mafia, corrupt religious figures, and a TV psychic named John Normandy. He wanted the city to be laid out with French catacombs underneath and urban Gothic design on the surface.

Designing landmarks for the city, Ramos had a friend create a map, placing the city in upper Wisconsin, where it always seemed to be raining or snowing or both. Crime would be mixed with mysticism and darkness. Inviting several author friends to contribute, Ramos created an omnibus of collected stories about the city of Golgotha. Assembled here for your enjoyment is the fruit of his editorial desires and the loving labors of Jaime Ramos' friends: Teel James Glenn, Nancy Hansen, Lee Houston Jr. Wayne Carey and Bobby Nash. CAPTAIN HAWKLIN / LANCE STAR UPDATE 6/7!

After 5 days of writing and 10,000 words later the Captain Hawklin/Lance Star team-up story is coming a long nicely. Charles F Millhouse has sent me the first 10,000 words for my pass. I plan to dive into it this week so Charles can take a well-deserved nap.

NOWHERE TO RUN NOVEL UPDATE!

Edits and rewrites are completed on 'Nowhere To Run' and the novel has moved into production and formatting. I'm working on the back-of-the-book essay now, something I do with my BEN Books published novels. Once interior production is complete, I'll get the cover done and we'll be ready to launch. Look for a cover reveal soon.

I'm still kicking around the idea of a Kickstarter launch to act as a bit of a pre-order with swag. Stay tuned for more details.

Still some work ahead, but now, it's time for a break.

THE WRAPP UP-- FREE COMIC BOOK DAY AND ATLANTA COMIC CONVENTION!

Hey there. I'm playing catch up after being out of the office the past three days.

My Life In The Faster Lane tour made two stops over the weekend.

On Saturday, I was at Infinite realities for Free Comic Book Day. I posted the free sketches I did below. I ended up doing 24 free sketches, which was fun. I hope you enjoy them.

H.E.R.B.I.E. the Muse x 2

On Sunday, I set up at The Atlanta Comic Convention. Both events were fun. I met some great people, caught up with friends, and sold some stuff, which is always a nice bonus.

H.E.R.B.I.E the Muse has a partner now and I'm feeling outnumbered. This little guy followed me home from the Atlanta Comic Convention Sunday. OG H.E.R.B.I.E the Muse isn't too sure what to think of H.E.R.B.I.E. the Muse 2.0 yet. My fear is they're going to gang up on me so I better get busy writing. Ha! Ha!
