BOBBY PAYS A VISIT TO HELL'S KITCHEN!

I joined the ESMCU crew to talk about Daredevil.
-----
In our 20th episode, John and Jennifer are joined by Bobby Nash and Jp Patrick to dissect the first half of Marvel's first Netflix series, Daredevil. What made it so successful? Does binge watching make a difference in how you tell a story? And what lengths would JP go to, to get Rosario Dawson's phone number?
Please note that we recorded this episode BEFORE Jon Bernthal was announced as the new Punisher, so our lengthy discussion about Jason Statham is all the more amusing now.

Give it a listen here or here.

ESO heads to Harlan County for a look at FX’s critically acclaimed series, Justified. The Earth Station One crew dives into the world of Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens in Justified, based on a story by noted author Elmore Leonard. We’ll find out what’s happened before and look at the new season airing now. On any other podcast, that would be enough for one episode. Mike Faber, Mike Gordon, Jennifer Hartshorn, and the Phantom Troublemaker had a blast sharing initial reactions to The Day of The Doctor special along with the award-winning author Bobby Nash, Beau Brown, Kirby

WHO ARE YOU?

I had a fantastic time at the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Party last night. Thanks to our friends at TimeGate, The Forgotten Doctor, BritTrack, and my Earth Station One/Earth Station Who podcast cohorts for spearheading the event. There were some fun panels and events then we watched "The Night of The Doctor", "The Five(ish) Doctors Rebooted", and "The Day of The Doctor" with a large audience, which only served to heighten the fun. Kudos to all involved. This was a fun event and I look forward to Christmas.

The photo above is a shot of the Earth Station Who crew last night at the Doctor Who: 50 Years of Adventure event. With The Phantom Troublemaker, Jennifer Hartshorn, Mike Faber (hiding behind the mic), Mike Gordon, and me on the right. Such a fun time.

[UPDATED] EARTH STATION ONE EPISODE 179 – SUMMER MOVIE ROUNDUP & FALL TV PREVIEW

I was on the set of the upcoming comedy horror film Fat Chance so I wasn't able to join my ESO co-hosts this week. I did send in my pick for most anticipated new show though.

As the ESO crew basks in the afterglow that was Dragon Con, we pause to remember the many films that appealed for our affections over the last four months and look ahead to the series (new and returning) that will be flying through the air as we sit back and relax with our colortinis this fall. With Jen Hartshorn and the award-winning author Bobby Nash on assignment, Mike Faber and Mike Gordon are joined by Ashley Bergner and Alex Aubrey for some screen talk, big and small. All this, plus the usual Rants, Raves, Khan Report, and Shout Outs!

Hail to The King!

Next week, the ESO crew dives back into the comic bin as we take a
look at the life and career of The King of Comics himself, Jack Kirby. It’s going to be a fantastic (pun intended) episode overflowing with Kirby Krackle, but we don’t stop there. We’ll have the usual assortment of Rants, Raves, Khan Report, The Geek Seat, Shout Outs, and so much more on the next exciting episode of Earth Station One.

EARTH STATION ONE EPISODE 178 – ESO LIVE AT DRAGON CON 2013

ESO panel
Recorded live at Dragon Con 2013! The ESO crew hosted two panels this past weekend and you can listen to them both in their entirety! First, Mike Faber, Mike Gordon, Jen Hartshorn, and the award-winning author Bobby Nash put American Sci-Fi Classics in The Geek Seat with track director (and RevolutionSF co-host) Joe Crowe.

Then, we crash in on the Podcasting Track with friends of the station Jessa Phillips and Darren Nowell who help us strap track director Brian Dunaway in The Geek Seat. Both panels were tons of fun and we are extremely grateful to both tracks for including us in their programming.

It’s that time of year again. The ESO crew gathers ‘round the ol’ roundtable for our Annual Fall TV Preview. Can we predict which new shows will be a hit this fall? Plus, if that wasn’t enough, we’ll also revisit our Summer Movie Preview Results. How did we do? We’ll find out
together next week. It’s a packed show, but there’s also the usual Rants and Raves, Khan Report, The Geek Seat, Shout Outs, and we may even have a special guest or two stop by. You get all this and more on the next exciting episode of Earth Station One.

Earth Station One Episode 177 – Our Favorite Flavours of Cornetto

By Amy L. Strickland
On this episode, the ESO crew attempts an epic theater crawl to review three films, starting with Shaun of the Dead, advancing to Hot Fuzz, and concluding at The World’s End. The six friends (who had no idea one another existed while they were in high school) undertaking this quest are none other than Mike Faber, Mike Gordon, Jennifer Hartshorn, the award-winning author Bobby Nash, Ashley Bergner, and Alex Autrey. Yarp! Amidst all the madness, we also find time to feature author Amy Leigh Strickland in The Geek Seat. Plus the usual Rants, Raves, Khan Report and Shout Outs!
