BOBBY NASH RETURNS TO OZARK!

Welcome back, Ozark on Netflix! I love this series. Here are my blink and you miss them scenes in Ozark season 3, episode 1. I had fun playing blackjack and craps on set all day. Great cast & crew and this set is amazing. I was also on hand during the concert scene and the scenes leading up to it in the parking lot, but did not make it on camera there.

Ozark is a great series. You should check it out.

BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN!

I'm back in the office after being away for six days (three at a convention and three working on a film set) and boy did things pile up while I was away. This is the downside to being a one man band. There's no one to pick up my slack. ha! I'm back in the office today, moving slow, but ready to work. I am tired, achy (lots of standing, walking, and running on set), and medicated as I picked up a sweet little sinus infection from being outside in Georgia's crappy high pollen for three days. Trying hard to nip it in the bud so I don't lose my voice as I have a writer's conference on Saturday and a podcast interview on Sunday.

I've been thinking a lot about my writing career of late, which is moving as though it is stuck in quicksand. I guess that means it's sink or swim time so I will be making some changes to how I do things going forward so I can make my business a success. The first casualty of this looks to be conventions. I have been operating at a loss for a couple of years now on conventions. Sales never equal money spent on hotel and travel so, for the foreseeable future, I won't be doing as many Comic Cons and pop culture cons as in the past. There are some that are exceptions to the rule. I will still be at DragonCon, which is the exception to almost every rule. It is its own unique animal. I'll continue to do literary events, smaller one day shows, and the like as the costs attached to them are minimal (I already have some posted on my website), but I have to cool it on the two and three three day shows for a while unless they want to cover my travel/hotel costs, which has happened in the past. It's a shame, as I love the cons, but from a business standpoint, this is what I have to do right now. Plus, this will give me more time at home to write.

Fear not, I am not going anywhere. I plan to keep on writing and putting out books that I hope you will all want to read (please, tell your friends too) and you can still get autographed books from me directly through www.bobbynash.com , www.ben-books.com , or by messaging me directly on social media. I am not hard to find.

Well, I've got six days of backlog to get caught up on so I will sign off for now and get to work.

Thanks for listening.

Waiting to go to set.
One of two outfits used for filming today. Look closely. You don't often see me in a tie. I had a great time on set. A fun day with great people.

NOT BY THE HAIR OF MY CHINNY CHIN CHIN...

It's been years since I was last clean-shaven. An odd sensation. Warm from the razor burn, but my chinny chin chin is freezing. Heh.

The things I do for a movie role.

SET LIFE...

I was back on set yesterday for a project I had not previously worked on for their second episode. Plus, I was back in my usual maroon shirt that wardrobe likes me to wear.

We worked outside on asphalt all day and I got a little sunburn going. It was a very hot day, but I had fun. The only downside was smashing my thumb in a broken chair. ouch.

More details when I can share them.

SUPPORT CREATORS THIS BLACK FRIDAY WEEKEND!

Black Friday and Small Business Saturday are both excellent times to support independent creators. You see them all over social media; writers, artists, musicians, actors, crafters, filmmakers, and more. Take some of that money you're saving on the deals at the big box stores and support creativity this Black Friday. You'll not only get something cool and unique, but you'll support the arts, and make a creator's day a little brighter in the process. Isn't that what this season is all about?

BECOME A PATRON OF THE ARTS... SUPPORT BOBBY ON PATREON TODAY!

Well, it's official. I've built myself a Patreon page. Please visit it at https://www.patreon.com/BobbyNash and share the link with your friends.

Why a Patreon page you might ask?

For as long as there have been artists (and by artists I mean painters, writers, actors, sculptors, musicians, and the like) there have been patrons of the arts, those generous souls who donate to those crazy, madcap creative types to help them live while they create their art. Sometimes, as in the case of Patreon, this is a monetary donation.

I started my Patreon page primarily as a way to help cover the costs of traveling to conventions, of which I do about 15 a year, on average. I would love to travel greater distances for cons to spread the word about my work. Also, paying the occasional car payment or phone bill never hurts either. Ha! Ha! No, seriously. Paying bills is always nice. I like to do it whenever I can. Those who send the bills are happy when I do it monthly.

I'm very new at this Patreon thing so please bear with me as I get things sorted on the new page. For those interested in supporting me there, I plan to offer some exclusive and first looks at novellas I'm producing myself through my BEN Books imprint. Patreon supporters will see those before anyone else. I also plan to do a monthly giveaway and supporters names will go in the hat for those prizes. I'll also do the occasional artwork for supporters as well. I also plan to do either hangouts or Skype groups as well once I work out the logistics. There's also an idea I'm floating for one on one or group tutorial sessions. I think that could be fun.  Of course, with the bulk of the money raised here going toward convention travel, I'd love the opportunity to meet my Patrons face to face and offer a special deal or two at my table. I'm sure other ideas will come to me as I go along. Plus, if you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Maybe we can make them happen.

If you've read this far down and are still interested, please click the link here and check out my Patreon page. and become a patron of the arts if you're able. I appreciate your support.

Thank you.

BOBBY CATCHES FIRE!

Look for me tonight on AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire at 10 pm. I’ll be in the COMDEX Convention scenes. This was a fun episode to film and I had a great time visiting the convention. As you know, I'm no stranger to cons and they built a pretty cool convention set. This episode also marked the first time I worked with green screen, which was an interesting experience.

I'll try to grab some good screen shots to share after the episode.

Here are some scenes from tonight's episode.

AUTOGRAPHED PHOTOS FOR CONS

I’m testing the waters on having photos from my film work at my appearances and conventions.

With Fat Chance getting a wide release soon I put together some shots from my role or Clark Wagner in the movie to my convention table plus one from The Following, where I played FBI Agent Robert Edwards, part of the Joe Carroll Task Force. There are 5 in all, but I may add more later.

I will have a couple of each on hand tomorrow for Free Comic Book Day at The Rock Shop to see which ones get the best response. I’ll be offering these copies for sale and order more for future appearances. I'll try to get some crisper images too.

I may also start offering them for sale through my website as well as I do with books.

Here are the ones I’m bringing.
Which ones do you like best?

I ♥ LATE NIGHT WRITING!

Art: Uwe Jarling
I should write at night more often. I seem to be more productive working into the wee hours of the morning. Probably because there are fewer distractions, I’d guess. I added a couple thousand words to the Domino Lady novel tonight and had a nice showdown between two characters. Hint: one of them didn’t survive it.

All in all it was a pretty good night of writing, but it's going on 5 a.m. and I’m tired so I think it’s time to call it a night (or morning).

Until tomorrow (or later today if you prefer).

Bobby

PS: I was saddened to hear of the passing of actor Larry Hagman today. He was a TV icon. I got to see him briefly, although didn't get to actually meet him, at Dragon Con a year or two back when the I Dream of Jeannie cast was there.
