THE WRAITH GETS ITS FIRST REVIEW!

We love reader reviews! Big thanks to Mark Vander Zanden for his kind words and 5 STAR Amazon reader review for The Wraith anthology, Vol. 1 published by Airship 27 and featuring stories by Frank Dirscherl, Greg Gick, Erik Franklin, Adam Oravec, and Bobby Nash.

"I defy you to put this down! I read a lot of New Pulp. I mean a lot. Most of it is quite good, but rarely has a book come along that made me want to immediately rush out and rave about it like this book did. In told there are four stories, some by well established New Pulp authors such as Bobby Nash and Greg Gick and a couple by relative newcomers. Frank Dirschel's character, The Wraith is both familiar as well as fresh. He takes the famous caped crusader blue print inspired by such timeless creations as The Spider and Batman and gives it a unique flair with his Judgement Stare. In these 170 pages of nonstop action he faces off against cultists, crooked cops, gators and much more. It has thrills, chills and memorable characters galore. Really, what more do you want?"

The Wraith anthology is available in paperback and ebook.

Thanks again, Mark.

LANCE STAR: SKY RANGER VOL. 1
A high flying pulp adventure anthology

Airship 27 Productions and Cornerstone take to the skies with the release of their reprint edition of LANCE STAR – SKY RANGER. This collection of new stories starring the long forgotten pulp hero was the first anthology title produced by Airship 27 Productions, dated 2006. Its overwhelming success helped launch the company’s ambitious plans to bring back classic pulp characters in brand new adventures. “Without LANCE STAR – SKY RANGER, there probably would have been no Airship 27 Productions,” claimed Editor Ron Fortier. “It was the book that got us going.” This anthology features four action packed tales of Lance and his loyal Sky Rangers. They include Attack of the Birdman by Frank Dirscherl, Where the Sea Meets the Sky by Bobby Nash, Shadows Over Kunlun by Win Scott Eckert, and Talons of the Red Condor by Bill Spangler with cover and interior art by comic pro, Rich Woodall of Johnny Raygun fame. The book also contains an article on the history of the character by Norman Hamilton and a second on airplane modeling in the 1930s and 40s by Larry Marshall. Included as an added bonus feature for this new edition is an excerpt from Bobby Nash’s full length novel, Lance Star: Sky Ranger “Cold Snap!” coming soon!

At the height of the pulps’ popularity, flying heroes like Dusty Ayers, G8 andamp; His Battle Aces and Bill Barnes were among the biggest sellers on the market. Airship 27 Prod. is once again turning the spotlight on another such aviation daredevil, LANCE STAR – SKY RANGER!

Just a rough mockup...but you get the idea.

In regards to yesterday's announcement...I have the narrator lined up, he'll be reading/creating the entire Wraith Adventures series of books into audiobook format (over a period of time), starting with THE WRAITH (hopefully to be released sometime this year). SANDERSON OF METRO will follow, then the rest of the series in chronological order.

Now, these will be available online on Audible, Amazon and the like, but will also be available to purchase via the Trinity Comics website on CD. I will try and get these into some public libraries as well.

Just some more Wraithly excitement coming your way from Trinity Comics in 2019 and beyond :D

WE LOVE READER REVIEWS! SANDERSON OF METRO GETS 4 STARS!

WE LOVE READER REVIEWS! A huge thank you to Virginia E. Johnson for the kind words and 5 STAR Amazon reader review for SANDERSON OF METRO by authors Frank Dirscherl and Bobby Nash. Read the full review or leave one of your own HERE (available in paperback). Also available in hardcover HERE.

"Highly recommended! From the comic book series the authors bring the origin of The Wraith to prose fiction. Paul Sanderson, of Metro, is a spoiled rich kid reaching for attention from his mother and father and can’t find it. As an adult he sets out to travel the world looking for his place in it. Almost dying in the African desert, he is saved by a native who tells him there is an ancient prophesy about a white man coming who will save the world, and Paul is the fulfillment of that prophesy. He is taken to a mountaintop where an old man trains him for his coming place in history as the Dread Avenger of the Underworld. But it goes deeper than this. If Paul dies, he is to pass on the power to someone else.

In fact, it is the second man telling the story, as Paul has already died and been replaced by Michael Reeve, a Metro policeman. The story is well written, and the Paul Sanderson’s character flushed out fairly well, but for an origin story we don’t get a whole lot of action. There’s just enough to move the story along. And by the time he starts to fight crime in Metro City, it’s time for him to die and be replaced by the super hero who will carry the legend on after Paul’s death. This is Book #1 in the prose series, and I suspect there is more action in future stories, or at least I would hope so. For those following the Wraith’s stories in comic books, this prose entry will clear up a lot of mystery behind the character, and is a must read for that reason alone. I highly recommend this well written entry for all comic book fans.
"

Thanks again, Virginia.

SANDERSON OF METRO NETS A NEW 5 STAR READER REVIEW!

We love reader reviews! Huge thanks to Marcus Bucklin for his kind words and 5 STAR Amazon review for The Wraith novel, Sanderson of Metro by Frank Dirscherl and Bobby Nash. You can find it now on Amazon HERE. Only $13.58 in paperback.

Marcus says: Let’s talk about SANDERSON OF METRO by Frank Dirscherl and Bobby Nash and published by Trinity Comics. This one took me a little longer to read than past WRAITH volumes, but I think part of that was I was subconsciously taking my time because I was enjoying the novel so much. This book is at its heart an origin story, but not the typical origin story, if you’re familiar with the WRAITH’S lore and the character of PAUL SANDERSON. The writing is great and well edited, and even though it lacks some of the typical Dirscherl style, the novel is still a great work of Neo Pulp/Superhero fiction worthy of any collection. Dirscherl and Nash need to be applauded for collaborating on a fantastic prequel novel that answers many lingering questions many readers may have had about the history of the WRAITH. The book is well plotted and the pacing is perfect, even when the narrative is jumping back and forth in time. At the end of the day, this novel is a worthy addition to the WRAITH’S continuing story and a necessary purchase if you’re a fan of the character. It’s also just a flat out enjoyable reading experience. What more could you ask for in a Neo Pulp/Superhero novel? Definitely look out for this book if you’re a fan of THE SPIDER, THE SHADOW, or BATMAN comics made around the 70’s and 80’s. 5/5 stars.

Thanks again, Marcus.

THE WRAITH RATES 4 STARS IN NEW AMAZON UK READER REVIEW!

A Big Metro-sized THANK YOU to reader Imallett for leaving a 4 STAR Amazon review of the Sanderson of Metro novel by Frank Dirscherl and Bobby Nash at Amazon UK. You can check out the full review HERE!

"Recommended for Wraith and pulp hero fans! For fans of classic pulp masked avenger characters like the Shadow, Black Bat and the Spider, as well as others such as Doc Savage, and comic characters like the Batman, or those who are already fans of The Wraith, Sanderson of Metro finally delivers the origin of the original Wraith as well as his supernatural power which is unleashed as the Eyes of Judgement.

The title shouldn't be taken too literally, as most of the action is set on a continent away from fictional Metro City. Readers are guided along Paul Sanderson's journey from something of a lost soul to the hero he would one day become. I would have welcomed a longer portion of the novel depicting the Sanderson-Wraith operating in Metro, but there is plenty of time to (re)visit those untold tales."

Thanks again, Imallett!

[UPDATED]: SEE HOW THE WRAITH BEGINS! SANDERSON OF METRO NOW AVAILABLE!

Look what arrived today.
I am thrilled to share the news that my latest novel, a collaboration with author and friend, Frank Dirscherl called Sanderson of Metro is now available for purchase in both paperback and hardcover editions. Published by Trinity Comics. There are links below.

Sanderson of Metro tells the origin story of Frank's character, Paul Sanderson, the man who eventually becomes known as The Wraith: Dread Avenger of the Underworld. The Wraith has previously appeared in comic books, novels, and even a movie. Sanderson of Metro is the first step in a The Wraith relaunch. It was an honor to be invited to play with Frank's characters and to work with Frank again. The last time we were on a project together was Lance Star: Sky Ranger vol. 1 back in 2006. I hope I did Paul Sanderson and The Wraith justice.
