Big thanks to Dave Wilde for his kind words in a review of Fight Card: Barefoot Bones by Bobby Nash writing as Jack Tunney. You can read the full review here. Published by Fight Card Books.
Barefoot Bones is an absolutely awesome boxing adventure story. It is a fast-paced, action-packed story that takes the reader from backwoods Georgia where a young man learns how to face up to grade school bullies, to Chicago where he continues to encounter bullies, and to the Korean War where he takes on the enemy in furious hand to hand fighting.
If you are looking for a solid coming of age boxing story, it simply doesn't get any better than this. The author nails the narrator's voice. Move over Oliver Twist, here's an orphan who knows the sweet science of boxing.
Thanks again, Dave. Much appreciated.

About Fight Card: Barefoot Bones:
Korea 1951.
Corporal James “Bones” Mason finds himself in the middle of a war zone. He is thrilled when his CO volunteers him for an inter-camp boxing tournament. The cease-fire is broken when a mortar attack hits interrupts his bout.
But that’s not where his story begins. “Barefoot Bones” Mason was a poor backwoods skinny kid, picked on by the larger boys, unable to fight back. All that changed the day he met Old Man Winters, a mysterious loner who teaches young Bones to defend himself.
Forced to leave behind everything he ever knew, teenage Bones hits the road, taking him from sweltering hot Georgia summers to freezing cold Chicago winters. Along the way, he has no problem finding trouble. But Bones knows how to handle trouble-- with his fists.
Can this skinny kid form the North Georgia Mountains survive the wilds of Korea so he can climb back into the ring one more time?

Fight Card Series: Barefoot Bones
Speaking of Fight Card, Author Derrick Ferguson is awesome and he said some nice things about Fight Card: Barefoot Bones here. Give it a read, please. Then check out the book on Amazon here. A perfect addition to Read An Ebook Week.
Here's an At The Earth's Core sneak peek from artist Jamie Chase. Coming soon from Sequential Pulp Comics/Dark Horse Comics. I started scripting this last night. At The Earth's Core is based on the novel by famed author Edgar Rice Burroughs.
We're almost there on Ghost Gal and it's going to be spooktacular! Raven’s Head Press’ Michael Hudson shared Jamie Chase’s cover to the first Ghost Gal novel “A Haunting We Will Go!” by Bobby Nash. Ghost Gal is a fictional story based on the real life exploits of famed ghost hunters Alexandra Holzer and her father, Hans Holzer.
There were also a couple other things that happened today that I can't publicly announce yet, but 2014 continues to be a busy one for me... and gets busier all the time.
And with that, it is time for me to hop off here for a bit and get some writing done. So much to do, so little time. You know, just another Wednesday. :)
Happy Reading.

About Fight Card:
Jack Tunney is the unifying pen name for authors of the FIGHT CARD series - created by Mel Odom and Paul Bishop. Up-and-coming new authors, such as Eric Beetner, David Foster, Kevin Michaels, and Heath Lowrance have all penned entries in the series alongside more established names in the field such as Wayne D. Dundee, Robert Randisi, Bishop, and Odom. Also included in the Fight Card series are two spin-off brands, Fight Card MMA and Fight Card Romance.
The books in the Fight Card series are 25,000 word novelettes, designed to be read in one or two sittings, and are inspired by the fight pulps of the '30s and '40s - such as Fight Stories Magazine - and Robert E. Howard's two-fisted boxing tales featuring Sailor Steve Costigan.
Each of the novellas is short, sharp and packs a punch.

BOBBY IS THE TALK OF THE TOWN...
![]() |
| Bobby on the Talk of The Town couch |
The video has now been posted to the internet. You can watch it above or here. I am the second interview, following author Creston Mapes, starting around the 12 minute mark.

| Host Karen Allen with Evil Ways novel |
This was my first TV interview and I was a little nervous, but Karen and Chris made me feel very at ease. I had fun. I just need to wear less bright colors, stop talking with my hands, and stop saying "you know" so much.
I hope you enjoy my appearance on Talk of The Town.

| Bobby explains writing challenges. |
I snapped some photos straight off the TV with my phone. They aren't the greatest quality, but they did show me that I should not wear a burgundy shirt on TV. Wow, but it looks really red. Fair warning, I talk with my hands so expect a good amount of gesturing.
Thanks again to Karen Allen and Christopher Childs for having me on the show.
