A SOBERING THOUGHT...

A sobering thought, no? Sometimes it's easy to forget how many people are watching us, a lesson I was reminded of recently.

This is one of the reasons I try to be positive and optimistic when I interact with people, especially at cons and events. You just never know. I don't want to be the reason someone abandons their dream. I've had people that I know and those that I didn't try to discourage me from following my dream, but they aren't important. The important ones are those who encouraged me, gave me the occasional wish for good luck, or an attaboy when I achieved a goal. Those people are the ones I try to remember and pass the same along to others.

I still have a ways to go before I achieve everything I set out to achieve, but I didn't give up. Let's journey together.

THIS MEME WAS SPOT ON...

It was bound to happen sooner or later. This meme got it right on the first go. Just ask anyone I have traveled to cons with about this. It's true.

NO EXPIRATION DATE!

A timely message.

I've been feeling down about the one step forward, two steps backward trajectory my writing career has been on the past couple years. This morning, I ran across the above image on-line and just knew I should share it in case others are going through similar blahs.

I think we all get a little down about our creativity at times. 2015 has definitely been a roller coaster year for me. It didn't end up where I thought it would, but at least I'm still on the tracks.

We all need a little encouragement from time to time and sometimes these internet memes pass in front of me at the most opportune times. Found this at just the right moment, I think. I don't know who originally created, but thanks to whoever did and to the person who shared it where I could see it.

Okay, I should get busy. These stories aren't going to write themselves, are they?

THE FIRST THREE...

Over on Facebook, author Steven Paul Leiva has tagged me in the latest of the writer's chain letter posts. I have been asked to share the first three lines of the first three chapters of a book in progress. I am currently working on Evil Intent so here you go…

Opening (no chapter #)
“I still see him coming.”

“Is he walking?”

“Yes. Walking straight toward me as if it were the most normal thing. Casual.

Ch. 1
Harold Palmer felt a chill as he stepped into the brisk, February evening.

He was relieved to be out of that office. Although he knew better, he could have sworn that the walls had begun to close in on him during the session.

Ch. 2
“We interrupt this program for an important announcement.”

“Good evening ladies and gentlemen,” the man on the television screen said. “I’m Herbert Rothfield for CMN. Earlier this evening we received word that recent peace initiatives in the Middle East have failed.

I'm suppose to tag 10 other writers, but I’ll skip that part. If you’re interested in doing this, go for it.

Also, I couldn't let the opportunity pass to mention that Evil Ways is still on sale in paperback and ebook formats. Here's more about it:

EVIL WAYS
A novel by Bobby Nash

Evil’s coming...
Don’t look back!

FBI Agent Harold Palmer needed a relaxing vacation. All he wanted was to travel to Sommersville, Georgia to visit his brother, newspaper publisher and reporter, Franklin Palmer. He should have known better.

The graduating class of 2002 have returned to Sommersville for their ten year high school reunion, timed to coincide with the annual Sommersville Autumn Festival.  Classmates coming from all over to reconnect, retell old stories, and have a great time reminiscing.

The discovery of a brutally murdered young lady with a connection to the local police, coupled with a rowdy high school reunion and the annual Autumn Festival has Sommersville Sheriff Tom Myers and his deputies overwhelmed.

Agent Palmer finds himself on the trail of a killer who preys on the fears of his victims. His next targets are the unsuspecting members of the reunited class of ‘02.

They should fear his EVIL WAYS.

This re-release edition of Evil Ways by Author Bobby Nash kicks off the beginning of a new series of suspense thrillers starring FBI Special Agent Harold Palmer.

The above post was made by my friend, Erik Burnham, writer of IDW's Ghostbusters, which you should definitely be reading. It made me laugh. I've been memed.  :)

RAPID FIRE STORYTELLING!!!

This made my day.

Phillip Ryan Chalker made this for me and posted it to Facebook to celebrate my 8th story release of 2014. I love it. It's not often stuff like this happens to me.
