A SMALL SNIPPET FROM HUNTER HOUSTON AND THE MIDNIGHT MAN!

I'm back at work on Hunter Houston: Horror Hunter book 2, titled Hunter Houston and The Midnight Man and I'm having a ball reconnecting with these kooky characters. Here's a non-spoilery snippet from the story in progress where the FBI is trying to put Houston and his team on retainer. This series will be published by Falstaff Books soon.

---
“Then I think we can make that arrangement work,” Houston said. “Kandy will forward you our invoice so you can get the ball rolling with payroll. Be aware that Houston, Inc. has a strict policy for dealing with issues of non-payment.”

Agent Smith held his arms out to the side and laughed.

“Are you saying you don’t trust the FBI?”

“Never lose that sense of humor, Pete.”

Coming soon.

BOBBY READS 85 NORTH AND SHARES SNOW STAR COVER REVEAL!

I had a rather productive Tuesday. I spent most of the day working on SNOW STAR, first taking care of edits and then getting started on the production side of things, including layout, interior design, ad creation, and designing the cover. Tomorrow, I'll finish up the essay on creating this story, including solving a mystery thirty years in the making, and then it should be about ready to upload and out to the masses this week. Fingers crossed it all flows smoothly.

Here's a sneak peek at the wraparound cover. I will also be posting it at www.abrahamsnow.com

Written by Bobby Nash.
Published by BEN Books.

I also spent some time promoting the new Indie Authors Read site, which I am thrilled to be part of at www.indieauthorsread.com where you can see video of me reading a story from my 85 North collection published by Falstaff Books.

Time to push away for the night, I think.

Stay safe and stay focused, my friends.

85 NORTH GETS 4 STARS IN NEW AMAZON READER REVIEW!

A huge thank you to Erin Penn for the 4 STAR Amazon review of 85 NORTH. You can read it HERE or below. It is much appreciated.

"A collection of eight short stories by Bobby Nash, most previously unpublished for one reason or another. The best of the collection "pop" with action, the worst get bogged down in set-up. The short stories show Mr. Nash's growth as an author. I wish the date they were written had been provided. My Faves: (1) 85 North (8) Showdown at Broken Eagle. My least liked: (3) Gypsy"

Thanks again, Erin!

Do you know The Midnight Man?

I've been having a bit of a dry spell on the writing side of things lately, getting just a little done here and there, but today I managed to get some words down. Some of them were even in the correct order, which is always nice. Hopefully, I can get a couple thousand more down in order tomorrow too.

I hope you enjoyed the tease.

BUT WHAT WERE THEY EATING?

I was honored to be invited to join author Shelley Workinger's Food Fic blog: But What Are They Eating? to talk about the importance of food in my book, 85 NORTH, published by Falstaff Books.

85 North is a collection of short stories. For this blog post, we focused on the title story, 85 North, which deals with a road trip that takes a decidedly strange turn when a routine gas stop turns out to be anything but routine. "It’s loosely based on a true story," says Nash of the tale. "Once the story goes into full horror mode, I embellish a lot, but the inspiration for the story has its roots in the real world and food is a big part of the story."

You can read the full blog post HERE.

Thanks again, Shelley!

CROSS CREEK CATS GIVES 85 NORTH A BIG THUMBS UP!

Big thanks to James Burns for his review of 85 North at Cross Creek Cats. Many thanks, James. I'm glad you liked it. You can read the full review HERE.

Imaginative short stories by a master storyteller. I enjoyed reading this collection of short stories by Bobby Nash. This is a world of dragons, wizards, and Knights. A world of the lost and misdirected.
Buckle up and enjoy the road trip !

ATLANTA COMIC CONVENTION WRAP UP AND MEET THE MIDNIGHT MAN!

I headed out to the Atlanta Comic Convention today. This was my final show for 2018 and always a great way to end the con season. It was a fun day and I didn't take many photos.

The con started off a little slow for me today so I did some plotting and writing. Always hustling, right? The notes are in my hard to read handwriting, but got some good notes down on Hunter Houston: Horror Hunter and The Midnight Man, the 2nd book in the upcoming series from Falstaff Books.

Once the con picked up, I did a pretty decent day. I sold a few books, talked to some friends, met some cool new folks, and even bought a book for myself. All in all, it was another great day at the Atlanta Comic Convention. The next ACC will be on January 27, 2019. You can learn more about the con HERE.

TODAY'S WRITING...

Today was a good writing day. I wrote a little over 3,000 words, put the final polish on a novella and got it sent off to the publisher for edits, and even did a little admin work. Definitely a good creative day.

Writing THE END is always a great feeling. I completed the polish on Hunter Houston: Horror Hunter Book 1 "Hunter Houston and the Molten Menace" and it is now off to Falstaff Books to start the editing process. I've already started on book 2 and am enjoying the villain in it, but before I can dive into it full force, I have another novel to complete that re-imagines an old pulp character in modern day. So far, I'm having fun with it.

'night, all.

THE WRAP UP-- CONCAROLINAS

I was a guest at ConCarolinas in Charlotte, NC this past weekend, June 1 - 3. A literary con, CC brings in fans of books, sci-fi, and fantasy primarily, but I usually do well pushing my books there as well. I arrived Friday evening and set up and did a panel, hung out with some folks, then turned in, ready for a big Saturday. Saturday did not disappoint, although it deep seem to be a smaller crowd than normal. I was on several panels, all of which were a lot of fun. Due to an unforeseen personal issue, I had to leave Saturday night so I missed Sunday at the con.

Due to all of that, I didn't have time to take many photos. Sorry.

Here was my panel schedule:

FRIDAY, JUNE 1
Superheroes have been popular for decades, but society changes and our heroes need to, as well. What do we want from our superheroes now, that might be different from decades ago? How can superhero writers create characters that reflect the diversity of the population? This was a lot of fun. We talked super-heroes from the movies, TV, and comics. Lots of laughs.

SATURDAY, JUNE 2
Come watch our writing teams collaborate on a character and topic the audience throws at them. This type of panel is always a crowd-pleaser. Always fun. The panelists and audience crafted a time travel story from scratch.

The novella fell out of fashion several years back, but is now making a comeback in this time of e-readers and digital publication. Let's explore the benefits and costs off novella writing, and why it is an option novelists should consider. A great discussion on the good, the bad, and the ugly of writing, producing, and reading novellas. There was a lot of good information shared on this one.

How fast do you NEED to release books to make a living? Once upon a time it took years for books to be released, but these days, readers are demanding we write as fast as they can consume. Our panel talks about whether or not you need to release a book every fifteen minutes to make money. This one had my name written all over it. Another great panel on the craft of writing and writer's output.

4:30 pm - Author Reading with Bobby Nash No one actually came for my reading, but I met a nice lady and we talked about writing for 30 minutes so that was good too.

9:00 pm - Off With Her Head!
There’s no way around it – sometimes a character has to die. Should you use poison, a blade, fire? What’s the surest method? How long will it take for him to die? Let’s talk about the nitty-gritty of killing off characters. Because I had to leave early, I missed this panel, which is a shame because I was really looking forward to it.

Thanks for another great year, ConCarolinas.

FRIDAY, JUNE 1

SATURDAY, JUNE 2
11:00 am - Live Action Collaboration
Come watch our writing teams collaborate on a character and topic the audience throws at them.

2:00 pm - The Novella Strikes Back!
The novella fell out of fashion several years back, but is now making a comeback in this time of e-readers and digital publication. Let's explore the benefits and costs off novella writing, and why it is an option novelists should consider.

3:00 pm - Being Prolific or Is Rapid Release Bulls&%t?
How fast do you NEED to release books to make a living? Once upon a time it took years for books to be released, but these days, readers are demanding we write as fast as they can consume. Our panel talks about whether or not you need to release a book every fifteen minutes to make money.
