THE WRAP UP-- HALLOWCON 2017!

I had a fun weekend at HallowCon in East Ridge, Tennessee this weekend. My voice is still less than ideal so apologies to those who saw me for not being as talkative as I normally like to be. Big thanks to Joe for inviting me. He and his crew took great care of us and kept us fed.

The Starship Farragut screening on Saturday was well attended and several DVDs found their way to good homes. The No SH#!  This just happened! panel was a wild time. None of had any idea what the topic was truly about so we winged it. There were a lot of laughs.

Starship Farragut screening
It was also great hanging with the other guests and attendees, including Jeremy Hicks, Kindra Sowder, D.A. Adams, Santiago Cirillo, Stephanie Osborn, KT Hunter, Tamara Lowry, and J.L. Mulvihill, who also celebrated her 28th wedding anniversary that same weekend and the con and her husband had a nice surprise for her. I'm sure there are others I am forgetting. No slight intended. My sickly brain, still recovering from allergies, simply doesn't remember.

I hope you all had a wonderful con.

BOBBY TALKS COMICS ON TV AT NEEDLESS THINGS PODCAST!

Earlier this week, I joined Phantom Troublemaker and Needless Things' Head of Research Ryan for a fun conversation about the current crop of television shows that have been adapted from comics on the Needless Things podcast

Needless Things Podcast 93 – Comic Books on TV
Phantom Troublemaker is joined by Needless Things' Head of Research Ryan and award-winning writer Bobby Nash for a conversation about the current crop of television shows that have been adapted from comics!

We are currently blessed with a huge crop of quality television shows
that have their roots in the world of comic books. Arrow kicked off a golden age of comic book TV shows that now includes The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Gotham, and on the Marvel side of things Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter (with more to come!). All of these shows have had ups and downs and each is a very different sort of experience.

Join Phantom, Bobby, and Ryan as they discuss the joys of this glut of comic booky goodness!

Listen to Needless Things Podcast 93 – Comic Books on TV here.

Be sure to join the new Needless Things Podcast Facebook Group and get in on the conversation for this week’s episode! Let us know what you think!

ATCON 2016 CONVENTION WRAP UP!

With the award-winning Mark Maddox
I had an amazing time at AthCon this weekend. Here are some photos from the weekend I posted on Instagram. It was a fun time. A little on the cold side as we were set up outside, but a good time was had. I even sold a couple books.

Despite the cold, I got to hang out with some cool folks like Mark Maddox and his the Maddox kids, James and Ava, Michael A ClarkJim AdamsBryan SilverBax, Mark HelwigJohn PenceDimitri Walker, Mike Gordon, Tim Norris, Alan Siler, Bill Ritch, Michael Bishop, Kyle Puttkamer, Greg Crews, Sonya Thompson, and more.

For me, the panels were the highlight of the weekend. There was a writing panel each day and they were a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the chance to talk writing with Michael Bishop, John Pence, and Tim Norris (above). We had a great time.

FREE COMIC BOOK DAY WRAP UP!

My Table at The Rock Shop for Free Comic Book Day

The event poster
I just returned home from a fun-filled and full Free Comic Book Day event at The Rock Shop at the Mall of Georgia.

There was a great crowd from before we opened and there were still plenty of folks there when I left. Thanks to Brad and the Rock Shop staff for taking such good care of me. I had a great time.

Afterward, I popped over to see my buddy, Sean Taylor at Galactic Quest for a bit. No setting up. Just visiting. Always fun hanging out with Sean and Co.

Another early night tonight. Tomorrow, I, along with my Earth Station One podcast co-hosts will be doing a couple of panels about podcasting at Outlantacon. Afterward, the ESO crew is heading out to see The Amazing Spider-man 2.

Should be a fun weekend.
