THE WRAP UP-- SC COMICON 2018!

Bobby with Gotham's Maggie Geha
and ESO podcast's Mike Faber.
Sorry for the delay in getting this one posted. It's been a hectic week.

Last weekend (March 24 - 25th), I was a guest at SC Comicon in Greenville, SC. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite cons of the year. This was the 5th year and it was another great one. I was set up in Artist Alley at table #522. There were great crowds all weekend and I even managed to sell a book or two. Always a nice bonus. Another nice bonus was getting to meet, briefly as we passed each other in the green room, Carey Elwes and Adrian Paul.

I wasn't at my best, physically. A minor accident had knocked my hip and back out of alignment. Painful, but easily corrected by a

visit to the chiropractor. The unwanted side effect was a flare up of Sciatica, which runs the length of your right leg from your butt to your foot. Not excruciatingly painful, but a constant pain that kept me off my feet most of the weekend so I didn't get to walk around or shop as much as I would have wanted. Apologies to those I did not get a chance to see.

As always, Robert and Michele Young and their staff did a bang up job taking care of us and putting on a wonderful event. There was also a reception at the Alex Ross museum exhibit. I had seen it before, but it was worth a return visit. If you're in Greenville, SC between now and June 3rd, I highly recommend it.

On Sunday, I filled in for the ailing Mike Gordon, who was unable to make the con due to being ill, moderating the Meggie Geha panel with
Sanford Greene's
convention book
cover art.
Mike Faber. Mike and Mike are the hosts of the Earth Station One podcast and great guys. You should give their show a listen. Maggie portrayed the second iteration on Poison Ivy on FOX's Gotham and she was a great guest and had a lot of cool stories. I believe Mike is planning to release the recording of it on ESO's Patreon Page.

To those who came out, stopped by the table or the panel, bought something, or just said hi, I appreciate it and I hope you had a great con.

Let's do it again next year.

Bobby

SC Comicon 2019 dates are March 9th - 10th.

Earth Station One Podcast Episode 308 – The Work of Carmine Infantino

I visited my pals on the station this week as we got together to talk about the career of comic legend, Carmine Infantino on episode 308 of the Earth Station One podcast. Give it a listen here.

The secret origin of the current success of DC’s TV properties is that they are all very much inspired by the Silver Age of comics and one of the most influential artists of that time is the great Carmine Infantino. Mike Faber, Mike Gordon, Kevin Eldridge, and award-winning author Bobby Nash showcase the highlights of his illustrious career. Also, the Geek Seat goes global and reaches Italian pulp and fantasy writer Davide Mana. Plus, Robert Young updates us on the upcoming SC Comicon in the Khan Report. All this, along with the usual Rants, Raves, Geek Girls
Take, and Shout Outs!

BOBBY ADDS SC COMICON TO 2016 CONVENTION SCHEDULE...

My table at SC Comicon 2015
I am absolutely honored to return to Greenville, SC in 2016 for the third annual SC Comicon. This is hands down one of the coolest comic book conventions that is solely based on comics.

I hope to see you there.

CELEBRATE THE KING OF COMICS’ BIRTHDAY AND HELP OUT SOME HEROES-- KIRBY 4 HEROES AT BORDERLANDS SATURDAY, AUGUST 29TH

Jack Kirby and a few of his friends.
I don't sketch often, but when I do, it’s for a good cause.

Along with artists far more talented than me, I will be sketching for charity on Saturday August 29th at Borderlands Comics and Games for the Kirby4Heroes event to benefit the Heroes Initiative in Greenville, SC. I hope you'll join us. Also, if you've never been to Borderlands Comics and Games before, you're in for a treat. This is a great store run by my friend, Robert Young. It is definitely worth a visit. You won't be disappointed.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Bobby

About the event:

THE SC COMICON WRAP UP!

SC Comicon (L-R): Peter Cutler, Mike Gordon, Bobby Nash, Chris Hamer

Bobby with Miracole Burns
I was a guest at the first ever SC Comicon in Greenville, SC last weekend, May 17 - 18, 2014, and I had an absolutely amazing time. First off, I want to offer a big ol’ hearty congratulations to Robert Young and his staff for taking such good care of us this weekend. I had a blast and look forward to next year. You know it’s a good sign when there’s a fairly lengthy line outside the convention center before it opens waiting to get inside. Robert also owns and operates Greenville's Borderlands Comics and Games, which is a fantastic store. If you're in the area, you should definitely stop by and say hello. He was also kind enough to stop by the ESO podcast episode 214 to talk about the con. You can listen to it here.

DJ Spider as Black Canary
A special thanks to all the great folks who came out and said hello, stopped by the table, and an extra cheer to those who picked up some books. You guys are awesome and I appreciate it.

I also had a great time hanging out and/or chatting with some cool folks like Mike Gordon, Chris Hamer, Peter Cutler, J.R. Mounts, Chris Burns, Miracole Burns, DJ Spider, David Ballauer, Randy Bishop, Bradd Parton, Nikki Parton, Richard Morgan, Kelly Yates, and more. Please forgive me if I didn't mention you. It was by no means intentional. My brain turns to mush at the conclusion of conventions.

My table (#625)
I was set up at table #625 on Aisle 600 with New Legend Productions’ Mike Gordon and Peter Cutler on one side and Chris and Miracole Burns on the other. We had a fairly steady stream of people on the aisle and was never at a loss for someone to talk to, which is always nice because I do like to talk.

Comic fans, trust me, if you weren't here this time, you'll definitely want to be back next year. It was fun. On the book front, my big seller of the weekend was.... drum roll, please... The Big Bad: An Anthology of Evil and Lance Star: Sky Ranger, with Domino Lady coming in third.

You can learn more about SC Comicon here and follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

I had a great time and look forward to returning in 2015 for SC Comicon’s second year.
