BOOK BOX OFFICE... FLOP OR NOT?

It hit me today that I am so happy that audiences don't judge a book's release week the way audiences judge a movie's opening weekend. Didn't sell a million copies? Flop. I never hear readers saying things like, "I would pick up that new Bobby Nash novel, but I hear it didn't sell well the day it came out so I'll skip it."

If we apply the same thinking to books as we do movies, then every book I've ever written is a flop. This is silly, of course. I sell more copies of Evil Ways today than I did when it first came out in 2005 because new readers discover it.

Just something I've been thinking about today.

Bobby
