WE LOVE READER REVIEWS! THE SPIDER: EXTREME PREJUDICE GRABS 4 STARS!

WE LOVE READER REVIEWS! Big thanks to Rory Coker for his kind words and 4 Star Amazon review of The Spider: Extreme Prejudice. You can read it HERE.

"A fairly successful anthology of short stories featuring THE MASTER OF MEN. When I ordered this volume, I had my doubts that THE SPIDER could be made to work at short-story length, but most of the authors here are up to the challenge. Basically, you start with the standard sort of menace that snuffs out the lives of thousands of citizens of New York City in as gruesome a way as the author can come up with, and then let it be obvious to The Spider as to who the guilty mastermind is, and immediately go to a confrontation between mastermind and Spider. The various menaces fall back on flesh-eating zombies a bit too often for my taste, but generally things fall within the broad frameworks established by the great Norvell Page. One story has Richard Wentworth and his girlfriend Nita Van Sloan routinely sleeping together, a highly unlikely circumstance since both Wentworth and Van Sloan were pillars of society with a sizeable staff of servants... their households were rigidly separated. And Wentworth sleeping with Van Sloan would subject her to even more physical danger than she normally experiences in the tales. I also didn't like various inexplicable supernatural elements some authors worked into the adventures. But there are bound to be clunkers in such a generous collection. On the whole, I recommend it to fans of The Master of Men."

I'm glad you enjoyed it, though I suspect my story was the one that didn't sit well as it has a supernatural element and Nita tells Richard to "come back to bed" at the end of the story.
