NASH NEWS - THE BOBBY NASH NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 24, 2016
Welcome to the not-quite-monthly Nash News email newsletter. As always, I appreciate you taking the time to read my ramblings and keep up with my antics on social media, and for visiting Nash News at www.bobbynash.com. I’ve been informed that not everyone can see the covers that are part of the email. I’m attaching a PDF as well for those who cannot see the covers and art.
As September rolls closer to October, we’re entering my favorite time of year, fall. Apparently, Mother Nature missed a memo because the temperatures here in Georgia are still pretty warm, but starting to drop a little bit. I like the cooler temps because it means I can grab the laptop and head outside to write.
I am still making an effort to get the newsletter back on a monthly schedule and catch up on some deadlines I’ve fallen behind on [a short pause while everyone laughs]. Lots of work on my plate these days, which is good so I'm working hard to get things back on track. Let’s start this month’s newsletter off with an announcement.
#####
PATREON
One of the questions I get most often is, “what can we do to help or support your writing?” My go to answer is usually, “buy some books, especially the novels as I get a steady royalty from each one sold. Now, I have another answer to offer.
After talking it over with some friends who also use it, I have set up a Patreon page. You can find it at https://www.patreon.com/BobbyNash. Patreon, for those who are not familiar, is the modern day version of patron of the arts. Anyone who is a fan of artists, writers, musicians, actors, filmmakers, painters, etc. can pledge to donate a certain amount to their Patreon page each month to help them support themselves while they create art. These pledges can be from as low as $1 a month to whatever. The creator also offers perks for those donations. In my case, it’s giving away a book a month and some art, exclusive blog posts and eventually, a podcast. You can see all of the perks offered on mine at https://www.patreon.com/BobbyNash. I also wrote a blog on why I did Patreon that I posted there and at www.bobbynash.com.
Whether you pledge or not, I thank you all again for your continued support.

STARSHIP FARRAGUT “CONSPIRACY OF INNOCENCE” WINS AWARD
Since the last newsletter, I found out that the Starship Farragut episode I wrote, "Conspiracy of Innocence" won an award last year. The episode won the Silver Award at the 2015 DC WebFest Awards, which is pretty cool. Always exciting to see the work acknowledged like that.
You can view the full episode of Starship Farragut "Conspiracy of Innocence" at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VInpQHwnrrk

CONVENTIONS/APPEARANCES
Dragon Con has come and gone and I am almost recuperated from the wonderful time I had in Atlanta with about 80,000 of my closest friends. I wrote a full wrap up with photos at www.bobbynash.com if you’d like to check it out. I have two convention appearances in October.
Up next, I'll be visiting the Georgia Piedmont Technical College's first ever NewtCon in Covington, Georgia for 4 hours of fun talking about writing and comics on October 1st.

Then there’s The Savannah Quill book convention on October 8, 2016 in Savannah, GA. (10 a.m. - 6 p.m.). This is a new convention and I’m excited to be one of their first guests. Learn more at https://savannahquill.com and I hope to see you there.
After that is the Hoover Library and Alabama Phoenix Festival Sci-Fi/Fantasy Fest on October 21 - 23 in Hoover, AL. Looking forward to returning to Alabama. It’s been too long. https://www.facebook.com/events/1528045090854261

Get full list of shows and my panel schedules at www.bobbynash.com under the
Convention/Appearances tab. I love attending conventions. I’ve already attended a few cons this year, but I’m just getting started. If you’re at any of these shows, please stop by and say hello.
