On Saturday, May 18th, I was a guest at
The Southern Pen Writers Conference in Monroe, GA. This was the first year for this event and I think it went amazingly well. Big thanks to Vickie Bley and her team, the authors, the presenters, the volunteers, and the attendees for making this event so special. I hope there will be a second one.
There were two keynote addresses during the event, one from author Ed Grisamore called "The Wonderful Life of a Writer" and the other from author and judge, Lori Duff called "The Legal Side of Writing" which she made quite fun.
There were a total of thirteen workshops/presentations to attend. I taught one at 10:00 am called "You've Written Something. Now

What?" which was well attended and fun. The audience was quick to participate and had some interesting questions. They also fed us, which is always a nice bonus. All three of the events I did last week fed us. All other events should take note. Ha. Ha.
If you are a writer, published author, or want to be a writer, I think you can learn a lot of wonderful information at writers conferences. Hopefully, The Southern Pen Writers Conference will return.
