I had a couple of teachers in high school who really encouraged me with my writing and art, both after catching me creating my own comics while in class. Instead of chastising me for it, they offered suggestions on how to use it with my classwork. It made a huge impact on me.
Sadly, I never got to tell either of them how much it meant to me or show them that I became an author. One passed away before I was published and the other moved and I never heard anything about him again.
The lessons, however, remain with me.
