BOBBY AND THE NEEDLESS THINGS PODCAST CREW TRAVELS TO MONGO WITH FLASH GORDON!
Needless Things episode 214: Flash Gordon Needless Commentary:
Part of an ongoing series – the Needless Things Irregulars gather in the Phantom Zone to provide their own unique commentary on classic genre films! This time, we're reviewing FLASH GORDON!
1980's Flash Gordon holds a place of esteem in the annals of sci-fi cinema. Not because of Max von Sydow's spectacular portrayal of Ming the Merciless. Not for the electric soundtrack by masters of rock Queen. Not even for the heart-quickening sights of Timothy Dalton in tights and Brian Blessed in leather panties. No, Flash Gordon is part of an elite group of movies that shaped the very persona of the founder of Needless Things, Dave West. This prestigious group includes such classics as Swamp Thing,Alligator, and Robert Altman's Popeye. These were just a few of the movies available on the broadcast marvel known as HBO during Dave's formative years.
Listen in as for the first time ever and in the company of the irrepressible Mike Gordon and the award-winning Bobby Nash, the Needless Things Irregulars (Dave, Arian, and The Rad Ranger) experience FLASH A-AH! He'll save every one of us!

BOBBY AND THE NEEDLESS THINGS PODCAST CREW PROVIDE DRAGONSLAYER COMMENTARY!
Note: this is the first time I saw the film.
Listen to Needless Things Podcast episode 174 – Dragon Con 2017: Dragonslayer Needless Commentary HERE.
Part of an ongoing series – the Needless Things Irregulars gather in the Phantom Zone to provide their own unique commentary on classic genre films! Special guest Award-Winning Bobby Nash joins the Commentary Team for the first-ever Dragon Con-themed Commentary – 1981's Dragonslayer!
Everyone knows that dragons are badass, but for some reason Hollywood has rarely done a good job of capitalizing on their badass-ness. One of the seminal early 80s HBO standards was Matthew Robbins' Dragonslayer, a film set to cash in on the fantasy craze of the day, with a little Mark Hamill-ness thrown in by way of
a young Peter MacNicol.
Featuring gorgeous locations and tremendous production design, the film failed to become the blockbuster that had been hoped for and even today hasn't managed to achieve even a cult status. In a tribute to the awesomeness of Dragon Con and of dragons, the Irregulars delve into Dragonslayer and offer up their thoughts as to what, if anything, went wrong.
Listen in as Phantom Troublemaker, Bobby Nash, Arian, and Rad Ranger gather in the Phantom Zone to bear witness to the might of Vermithrax Pejorative, the best-named thing ever!

Phantom Troublemaker, Ryan Cadaver, and the Award-Winning Bobby Nash once again gather in the Phantom Zone, this time to discuss Spider-Man: Homecoming!
The newest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe is one that for years seemed impossible – a movie starring Peter Parker, your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man! Thanks to fan demand and probably more than a little corporate greed, Sony and Disney got on the same page and decided to share Marvel Comics' best-known and most profitable character. Did they pull it off? Is the MCU Spidey the best Spidey? Where does this new film fit in to the grand scheme of Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

YO, JOELANTA!!!!
I won't have a table, but look for me wandering around at Joelanta and The Great Atlanta Toy Convention on Saturday, March 12th.
It'll be my first time visiting this con and I'm really looking forward to meeting Larry Hama, a fantastic writer (G.I. Joe, Wolverine, Avengers), but he'll be the second person I've met who appeared on M*A*S*H (the first being Jaime Farr at a convention years ago).
If you see me there, please say hello.
