THE AUGUSTA TOY AND COMICS SHOW/JOEFEST 2020 DATE CHANGES...
The Augusta Toy and Comic Show/Joefest 2020 was scheduled for June 27 - 28, 2020 in Augusta, GA at the New Augusta Convention Center. Due to COVID-19 issues, the convention had been rescheduled for Labor Day weekend. I was set to be part of Indies World, but I am already booked elsewhere on that weekend so I will not be there for this year's show. I will return for The Augusta Toy and Comic Show/Joefest 2021.
Stay tuned for details.

JORDANCON 2020 CANCELLED!
Sadly, but not unexpectedly, JordanCon has announced that they are cancelling the 2020 JordanCon convention due to the coronavirus restrictions and will be back in 2021. I hope to return to this amazing con in 2021 as well.
CHANGES TO THE 2020 SCRIBE AWARDS...
The International Association of Media Tie-In Writers president, Jonathan Maberry announced that The Scribe Awards will not be presented at San Diego Comic Con as in previous years due to Covid-19 Coronavirus concerns. The Scribe Awards will be announced via Facebook Live instead. The date will be revealed soon. I have two books that were eligible so I am understandably curious to see if they made the nomination list. I will share more information on The Scribe Awards as I get them. Read Jonathan's statement below.
And now a word about Coronavirus and the Scribes…
For years now we’ve been presenting the IAMTW’s annual Scribe Awards at the wonderful San Diego Comic Con. Because of the growing danger of contagion from Covid-19, we will not have a presence at SDCC. Our Scribe Award nominees and winners will be announced via a real-time video event on our Facebook Group.
We will announce the nominees as well as the winner of the Faust Award in a few weeks.
The date of the awards will be announced at the same time.
Stay tuned for updates as they become available.

ASFE VIRTUAL MARKET
The Atlanta Sci-Fi and Fantasy Expo was postponed, but they are keeping the spirit of the event alive by launching the ASFE Virtual Market. Find links and information on guests and vendors from the event. You can see my page at https://www.atlantascifiexpo.com/exhibitors/bobby-nash This write up made my day. I don't think I've ever been called a "perennial fan favorite" before. I like it.
Bobby Nash is a perennial fan favorite and awarding-winning author of novels, comic books, short stories, screenplays, and more! #ASFE #VirtualMarket
Thanks, ASFE.

CONVENTION UPDATE: ASFE POSTPONED AND MORE NEWS...
If an event you were planning to visit has been cancelled, reach out to those creators or vendors you were hoping to meet and/or purchase items from and see if they are offering them through their website. This will help all of the creators and vendors who are losing out on money they were expecting to make at an event. In most cases, they already spent money in preparation for the event. Buying original art, prints, books, etc. from their site is a great way to keep the spirit of conventions and events alive even if you're doing them remotely.
In my case, I sell autographed books at https://bobbynash.square.site and I take commission requests for art through the site and also payments through Paypal. Want a book not listed? Reach out and ask. If I have copies on hand, I can sell autographed copies no problem. Plus, all sales from me directly gets free envelope art. Whatta deal, right? Hit me up through social media or at www.bobbynash.com www.ben-books.com and/or www.abrahamsnow.com
At this time, I have not heard of cancellations of my other March events, The Southern Pen Writers Conference on March 21st or Coosa Con on March 28th. If that changes, I will post it as well.
Stay safe out there.
Bobby
Here's the announcement from The Atlanta Sc-Fi and Fantasy Expo:
Our Greatest Concern Is the Safety of Our Community
At its core the Atlanta Science Fiction and Fantasy Expo is a labor of love by fans for fans. As the Expo grows, we have been able to keep the event admission free through the generous support of our volunteer staff, event partners, and vendors. We all love the community we have built together and are committed to the safety and well being of everyone involved. In the last twenty-four hours, there has been increased focus on the role public gatherings could play in transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Many of you reached out to express your concerns and inquire about our plans for this weekend. Although we have established revised sanitation and engagement protocols for the Expo, we decided to seek direct consultation from professionals familiar with the virus and its spread in the Metro Atlanta area. We have been advised social distancing is an increasingly necessary and key component to reducing further transmission. Based on these discussions and an abundance of caution, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s event.
We ask that our guests, panelists and friends of the show remain patient as we continue to monitor the situation and determine alternate dates. Our combined efforts have created an amazing experience for this year’s Expo (seriously, did you see the lineup?!!!) and we are absolutely committed to hosting a 2020 event.
Please continue to visit www.atltantascifiexpo.com and follow us on social media for updated information.

THE WRAP UP-- ACC100: THE ATLANTA COMIC CONVENTION
Another great Atlanta Comic Convention in the books. #ACC100 Hard to believe it has been 100 cons and ACC shows no signs of slowing down. The day started off pretty busy, then slowed a bit as the pouring ran moved in. As things eased off a bit, weather wise, the crowds returned and it was a rather busy, productive day. I met some new people, including some creators, and saw some friends, who came by to say hello. All in all, a fun day. I always have a fun time at ACC.
I'm looking forward to returning in January 2020.
The only downsides to yesterday's convention day was breaking the crown off one of my teeth and still dealing with my sciatica pain. Thankfully, there was no pain with the tooth and I was able to save the crown. Heading to the dentist tomorrow to get it reattached. The hard part will be figuring out how to pay for it. Fun, fun. Today, I revisited the chiropractor to work on my Sciatica issue. I'm much improved over the past few weeks, but walking is still rather painful. Hopefully, it will continue to improve.
Onward and upward.

THE WRAP UP-- NEXT CHAPTER CON!
I was a guest at the first annual Next Chapter - a Books and Author Convention on Saturday, September 7, 2019 in Ringgold, GA. The event ran from 10a.m. - 4p.m. and featured authors of all stripes, an impressive kid's corner, and fun panels. You can find official photos from the event HERE.
I was on these three panels and had fun on each. The panelists were a lot of fun to chat with and the topics were interesting. :
11:00 - You've got the write Stuff, baby! How marvelous stories take form.
1:00 - A Peek Into Publishing
3:00 - Don't Kill My Favorite Character
A big thank you to Kenyon Henry, our host for the event. Kenyon and his team put on a great event and took good care of the guests, including feeding us, which is always a good way to an author's heart.
It was also great seeing friends like Dan Jolley, James Palmer, Ellie Raine, Seth Tucker, Stephanie Osborn, and more. The event supported local libraries and I am thrilled to say that a couple of my books will now be in Ringgold's library and available for checkout.
On a personal level, my Dad joined me for the day to help watch the table while I did panels. This is the first convention my dad has attended and I think he enjoyed himself. At first, I was afraid he would be bored as this is not really his kind of event, but R.O. is a charming, guy and, in typical fashion, found plenty of people to talk to at the event. I think he enjoyed it. We also had a nice ride up and back, which was fun.
I understand that there will be a Next Chapter Con in 2020. I would definitely love to return for that.

This year Comic and Pop Artist Alley is proud to announce the first annual Dragon Con Kids Sketch Book program! This program allows kids (12 and under) to get free sketches and/or autographs from participating artists and creators. The sketch books will be given out at the front entrance of Comic and Pop Artist Alley. Swing by the check-in table and ask one of our friendly volunteers for one and you’re on your way! Once in hand, kids can explore Artist Alley looking for tent cards located on artists' and creators' tables that match the logo on the front of their sketch books. When your child spots the logo, they are welcome to approach the artist or creator and ask them for a free quick sketch and/or autograph. We’re really excited about the program and hope your kids will be too. So, come on over to the AmericasMart (Building 2) and look for Comic and Pop Artist Alley on the 4th floor! We look forward to seeing you!
Please note, there is a limit of one sketch book per child to ensure that the maximum number of kids can participate in the program.
