1. Biggest lies you’ve ever heard regarding writing?

All published authors are wealthy. That’s a lie, a lie, a big, fat lie.

2. Published, or will publish 1st book on?

My first novel, EVIL WAYS was published in August of 2005.

3. On average, how many books to you read a year?

25 or 30, I guess. I’ve slowed down a bit as work has picked up. That doesn’t include reading my stuff for edits.

4. Farthest living fan?

Australia. That’s over 10,000 miles away. The farthest traveled book came from Yorkshire all the way to Atlanta, Georgia to get it signed.

5. Longest writing session you ever had?

I woke up one Saturday morning at 6 a.m. and started writing. When I stopped to take a break, it was night. I was really in the zone that day.

6. Some great advice you’ve gotten?

No one is going to love your book as much as you. Therefore, no one will promote the book better than you.

This year Comic and Pop Artist Alley is proud to announce the first annual Dragon Con Kids Sketch Book program! This program allows kids (12 and under) to get free sketches and/or autographs from participating artists and creators. The sketch books will be given out at the front entrance of Comic and Pop Artist Alley. Swing by the check-in table and ask one of our friendly volunteers for one and you’re on your way! Once in hand, kids can explore Artist Alley looking for tent cards located on artists' and creators' tables that match the logo on the front of their sketch books. When your child spots the logo, they are welcome to approach the artist or creator and ask them for a free quick sketch and/or autograph. We’re really excited about the program and hope your kids will be too. So, come on over to the AmericasMart (Building 2) and look for Comic and Pop Artist Alley on the 4th floor! We look forward to seeing you!

Please note, there is a limit of one sketch book per child to ensure that the maximum number of kids can participate in the program.

The Next Phrase...

Every once in a while I will write a sentence or a phrase that actually catches me off guard because it sounds really good when I repeat it back. I'm not talking ego, more like astonishment when the words are better than my own vocabulary. It means I've struck the character's core and he or she is telling me their story.

That happened tonight and I love it.

The Creed series follows Ryder Creed and his K9 search & rescue dogs usually teamed up with Kava's other series hero, FBI Agent Maggie O'Dell. Great reads. Highly recommended.

New Pulp publisher, Pro Se Productions has announced the release of my novel, Nightveil: Crisis at the Crossroads of Infinity. This is definitely a dream come true project for me. I have loved the character of Nightveil since I first read her adventures in ACComics back in the late 1980's in high school (yeah. I 'm old). I remember saying that I wanted to write this character one day. Well, it took a little over 30 years, but it finally happened and I'm thrilled.

I had an interesting Skype call with a college student in Helsinki today. He's doing his thesis on Patreon, specifically in relation to using Patreon as part of my marketing as an author. I'm not sure how he found me (my promotional efforts must be working), but I was honored to be part of it. THE WRAP UP-- LEGION COMIC CON

Bobby's table

The first Legion Comic Con in Smyrna Georgia took place today and I was honored to be one of the guests/vendors at the event. Chris Hamer and his amazing team took great care of us and even fed us, which is the fastest way to an indie creator's heart. I thought the event went well. There was a steady flow of traffic through the American Legion where the event was held and I believe the last count I heard was 565 attendees, which is pretty darn good for a first time show. I met some new people and caught up with friends, had some terrific conversations, and hopefully picked up a few new readers. I hope this is the first of many Legion Comic Cons to come. This was a fun event. I would definitely do it again.
