MARCH IS SMALL PRESS MONTH!

I've been told that March is Small Press Month. Please check out my small press publisher, BEN Books for some good reads at http://BEN-Books.blogspot.com. I also write for other small presses, which you can find on this site as well.

There are a lot of great books coming out of small press. Like independent film does for movies, Small Press Publishers are where you can often find groundbreaking work by some of literature's new voices.

I hope you'll give a small press author a try this month.

Click Read More... below to see the banner ads I created for Small Press Month. Please feel free to share them and help spread the word. There's also a blank template in case you would like to make your own.

The long-awaited return of the Green Hornet and Kato and their rolling arsenal the Black Beauty!

Back again with all-new stories!

Moonstone is proud to present The Green Hornet Casefiles, our second anthology featuring all-new, original crime fiction tales of the man who hunts the biggest of all game, public enemies that even the FBI can’t reach!

It’s the mid 1960’s, the political climate is shaky, there’s civil unrest, freedom and equality issues erupt everywhere from film to music to out in the streets.

On police records, the Green Hornet is actually a wanted criminal, a master manipulator, a crime boss who has his fingers in every pie. In reality, The Green Hornet is actually Britt Reid, owner-publisher of the Daily Sentinel. Alongside him rides his partner Kato, who is not only is a martial artist of unsurpassed prowess, but a skilled driver, and educated engineer as well. Their goal is to destroy crime from within by posing as criminals themselves!

The Matthew Baugh story, the Win Scott Eckert story, and the Howard Hopkins stories are sequels to their stories in the first volume!

Bobby's story is called A Thing Of Beauty. Sanford Biggs is a collector of the rarest items. After seeing The Green Hornet and Kato in action, he spots the next rare gem for his collection. He wants The Black Beauty and will do anything to possess it.

APRIL REVIEWS...

I really wanted to tie in the whole April Showers Bring May Flowers into the title, but nothing I tried really worked all that well. Darn it. I received a couple of reviews for a couple of my books in the past couple days (Snow Falls and Fight Card: Barefoot Bones) and wanted to share.

Andrew Salmon, an amazingly talented writer himself, reviewed my Fight Card: Barefoot Bones novel. You can read it here.

Michael Monson, also a writer, reviewed my ebook novel, Snow Falls. You can read it here.

Thanks for the reviews, gents. They are greatly appreciated.

As writers, we love seeing reviews. Not only is it a bit of feedback, which is nice to receive every now and again, but reviews at places like Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes and Noble, and the like help by knocking the books up the rankings so they gain a bit of extra visibility which makes them easier to see when potential readers are just browsing.

When you read a book, do the author a favor and drop a line or two review on-line. It will mean the world to them. Reviews are especially helpful to authors because every book sold helps.

Thanks and Happy Reading.

About Deadly Games!--
THEY PLAYED THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME OF ALL!
AND DEATH WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING...

Six years ago, Police Detective John Bartlett and journalist Benjamin West were instrumental in the capture of notorious master criminal Darrin Morehouse. Their story played out in the media, rocketing both Bartlett and West into local celebrity status.

Today, Morehouse, still a master game player and manipulator, commits suicide while in prison. His death initiates one final game of survival for the people Morehouse felt wronged him the most. At that top of the list are Bartlett and West, who must set aside their differences to save the lives of Morehouse's other victims and solve one last game before a dead man’s hired killers catch them and his other enemies.

Deadly Games! is a fast-paced action/thriller featuring action, suspense, murder, and the occasional gunfire from Author Bobby Nash, the writer of Evil Ways, Domino Lady, Lance Star: Sky Ranger, and more.

Thanks, Derrick.

CLACKING AWAY AT THE KEYBOARD...

Not Actual Cover
I didn't accomplish a lot during the daylight hours today, but I had a pretty good evening at the keyboard. I added another chapter to the Honey West/Domino Lady novel I'm writing for Moonstone Books (who is having a sale at the moment, BTW, including titles I worked on. 27% off everything in November). I'm making some good progress on that one.

Now it's time to step away for tonight's Walking Dead and maybe something else from the backlog on my DVR.

Sweet dreams.

4 SIMPLE STEPS...

Was sent the image above earlier tonight.

4 simple steps sounds good... in theory. It's a good way to get started, but there are a few more steps I think should be added.

Step 5: Keep writing until it's finished and meet those deadlines (easier said than done sometimes)
Step 6: Rewrite, edit, change, rewrite, cry, and rewrite some more.
Step 7: Publish (or look for a publisher, which is a whole new list of steps).
Step 8: Promote, market, huckster, promote, sell, cry, and promote.
Step 9: Repeat step 8 over and over and over again.
Step 10: Start over again at step 1 for next book while continuing to repeat step 9.

And that's how you do it.

And on that note, I have to get back to work.

NEARING THE FINISH LINE!

Cover Art: Jeff Austin. Production Design: Bobby Nash

Art: Nash & Austin
I’m almost finished with the production work on Frontier, which is a collection of sci fi shorts I’ve written over the years. It's been a nice trip down memory lane compiling all of the stories for this volume. If all goes well (HA!) this will be out in January.

Here’s a sneak peek at the cover (above) and a couple of images from the inside. Art by me and inked (saved) by Jeff Austin.

Happy New Year.
