THE TWO GREATEST WORDS...
The two greatest words a writer can type: The End. My story for the danger People anthology is completed and was emailed to the editor tonight. Whew. This one has been hanging over my To-Do-List for too long.
Tomorrow, it’s back to work on the Evil Intent novel.
I'm planning to head into 2013 on schedule.
So far, so good.

A DAY IN THE LIFE. OR-- WHAT I’M DOING WHEN YOU SHOULD BE WRITING!
I’ve been doing some non-writing, yet writing related work today. Might
be time to switch over and write some fiction though. Plus, we record
this week's Earth Station One podcast tonight. We're talking Babylon 5, which is one of my favorites. You’ll be able to hear that later this week.
As I did with Deadly Games! last week, I created some pre-promotion banner ads for the upcoming re-release of my first published novel, Evil Ways. Click for a larger view.
What do you think? Which ones work best for you?

| Proposed re-release cover |
A small-town sheriff in way over his head.
An FBI agent on the mend, seeking nothing more than to reconnect with his brother.
A reporter on the trail of a killer, something he thought he’d left behind when he left
Atlanta, Georgia for the small town of Sommersville, Georgia.
A town preparing for an annual celebration.
Old friends coming together to celebrate their high school reunion.
FBI Agent Harold Palmer needed a relaxing vacation. All he wanted was to travel to Sommersville, Georgia to visit his brother, newspaper publisher and reporter, Franklin Palmer. He should have known better.
The discovery of a brutally murdered young lady with a connection to the local police, coupled with a rowdy high school reunion and the annual Autumn Festival has Sommersville Sheriff Tom Myers and his deputies overwhelmed.
FBI Agent Harold Palmer, in town on a family matter, finds himself on the trail of a killer who preys on the fears of his victims. His next targets are the unsuspecting members of the reunited class of ’95.
They should fear his EVIL WAYS.

| I like the sound of this. |
While you’re out surfing the ‘net, I posted several items over the past weeks at www.esopodcast.com and http://allpulp.blogspot.com. You should swing by and take a peek. There’s been some cool news posted recently.
Well, I’d best get back to work.
We’ll talk later.

A HINT OF THINGS TO COME...
![]() |
| As seen on FB. Oh, yeah, and check out a rarely seen beardless Bobby Nash. |
This is the first new pre-promotion for the upcoming re-release of Evil Ways. Just dropping some hints and cues, which is always fun. I posted the one on Facebook, but as usual, the first one I created was not the one I used. Here are the ones I created.

| My first attempt. I like it, but the text makes it a little too busy. |

| Trimmed up the text. Perfect. Or was it? |

| I'd forgotten the photo on FB's Timeline so I had to reposition the title. |
More to follow.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO LATELY?
![]() |
| It's been awhile since my office was this clean and orderly. :) |
I'm happy to announce that I received word yesterday that a short story I submitted to an anthology was accepted. That's always good news to receive. I'll post more information on the project as soon as the publisher says it is okay to do so. I'm doubly excited because this will be the first time I'll get to work with a friend of mine, himself a talented writer. Should be fun.
Edits have been turned in for the Evil Ways novel. Evil Ways was my first published novel. It was released in 2005 and that edition has gone out of print. There are a few copies floating around out there, but otherwise it's pretty hard to find. New Babel Books has acquired the rights to Evil Ways and a (slightly) revised edition will be released soon. As soon as I have in store dates I will, of course, post them here. Evil Ways is the first book in a thriller series featuring FBI Agent Harold Palmer. Plus, I still need to do some tweaks on the cover.
In addition to putting the finishing touches on Evil Ways, I'm also deep into writing the second book in the Harold Palmer series, Evil Intent. I just passed the 45,000 word mark on Evil Intent and am making good progress on it.
I've been bouncing between Evil Intent and the as-yet-untitled Domino Lady novel for Moonstone Books. I hit a snag on the story and had to do some rearranging, but I think the story works better now. Hopefully, my editor will agree.
My writing schedule for the rest of the year is filled with mostly novel work as I try to get back on track and get some projects off my to do list that have been there for longer than I would like. The Evil Intent, Domino Lady, and Lance Star: Sky Ranger novels are my focus. After that I'll start on Deadly Games! 2 (not the actual title) and do a couple of novellas into 2013 before finishing up the novel, Blood Shot, which has been sitting at almost 66,000 words for awhile now while I work on other projects. I'm really looking forward to finishing that one. I think it has series potential as well. We'll see what happens. Hopefully, there's a publisher out there that will agree.
Plus, I have been busy with my podcasting partners at The ESO Network. Earth Station One tackles different topics each week. Earth Station Who focuses on Doctor Who. It airs every other week, except when new episodes of the series air (like now). I'll be on to review the new episodes and pop in from time to time for other episodes and topics. The ESO Dragon*Khan Report podcast records its 2012 finale this week as we do a convention postmortem on Dragon*Con 2012. Check out all of the ESO Network podcasts at www.esopodcast.com. I'll also be recording an episode of the PULPED! podcast this week to air next week in concert with the release of an anthology featuring a story I wrote.
Somewhere in all of that I try to find time to read, eat, watch TV, and sleep.
I guess I should get back to work.
Have a great week.

WRITING WITH EVIL INTENT!
![]() |
| Not Final Cover |
Sometimes I think I need an assistant. Ha! Ha!
Going to watch another episode from Buffy The Vampire Slayer season 2 tonight before bed. We're discussing the series on the next episode of Earth Station One. Should be a fun discussion.
Sweet dreams.

WITH EVIL INTENT...
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. I spent some time with my family, which is always nice. Nothing fancy since I see them regularly, but always fun to hang out with them.
I also had a pretty decent writing day. I added another 1,000 words to Evil Intent, which is the sequelt to my soon-to-be-re-released novel, Evil Ways. Not only did I add to the word count, but I also shifted around some chapters and other assorted odds and ends. It has a much more exciting opening chapter now, which I think will help it quite a bit.
Now it's time to call it a night. A little TV before bed, I think.
Sweet dreams.
