Every once in a while I will write a sentence or a phrase that actually catches me off guard because it sounds really good when I repeat it back. I'm not talking ego, more like astonishment when the words are better than my own vocabulary. It means I've struck the character's core and he or she is telling me their story.
That happened tonight and I love it.
