THE THREE P’S OF PRIVATE EYE PULP?

Spent the past couple hours writing P.I.s, prostitutes, and pulp. Made a nice dent in my story for upcoming The Ruby Files Vol. 2 anthology. Here’s a taste of the first draft (I just typed this so it's still a rough draft):

Reardon stopped at the front door, a hand resting on the knob. He turned back to face her. “Look, all joking aside, you be careful tomorrow.” He stepped out the open door and into the night.

“I will, mom,” she said before closing the door. “Scout’s honor.”

Once he was gone, Lacy let her forehead rest against the locked door. He was good at his job, but Agent Reardon had a habit of annoying her. She blew out a breath, but felt anything but relaxed. She was too exhausted to feel much of anything. She turned off the lights and made her way to her comfortable bed where she collapsed into it without even bothering to take off the degrading costume her cover required her to wear.

She was asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

Rick Ruby watched the man leave Raven’s apartment.

And that’s all for now. Just a taste.

What is The Ruby Files, you ask?

Created by authors Bobby Nash and Sean Taylor, the Ruby Files is a pulpy P.I. anthology featuring Rick Ruby and published by Airship 27 Productions. You can learn more about The Ruby Files Vol. 1 at http://rickruby.blogspot.com.

Look for The Ruby Files Vol. 2 coming soon.
