Moonstone Books has released their solicitations for Domino Lady/Sherlock Holmes #1 (of 2), which will be in stores in April 2013. Although I didn’t work on this issue, I did co-write issue #2 with Nancy Holder, which I assume will be out in May (I’ll post an update when I know for certain).

I always have fun working with two of my favorite ladies: Nancy Holder and The Domino Lady. This was also my first time writing Sherlock Holmes, a character I’ve resisted tackling previously. I felt much more comfortable writing Holmes in comic book form as opposed to prose. The “As Written by Watson” format always throws me.

Moonstone Books - Coming in April!
Domino Lady/Sherlock Holmes #1 (of 2)
Join NY TIMES best-selling author Nancy Holder in this 2-part murder mystery set against the backdrop of ancient Egypt!

Domino Lady and Sherlock Holmes team up to solve the riddle of the Sphinx…ok, not really, but they do solve this riddle of passion, identity, and antiquity!

Story: Nancy Holder
Art: Reno Maniquis
Colors: James Brown
Cover: Paul
33 pages, color, 7” x 10”, $3.99

This was a fun story to work on. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished book.

This will be their third crossover, if I'm remembering accurately. Once in the prose anthology, and once in an early issue of DL's own comic (maybe the first issue?), and now here comes another. I can hardly wait.

This one picks up after the story in the anthology (also written by Nancy Holder). It's a fun story. I've not seen the art from issue #1, but the art on #2 is gorgeous.
